Admissions arrangements from September 2027

The Governing Body has agreed the arrangements for admission to the school from September 2027. If you consider that these are not in compliance with the current School Admissions Code or the law relating to admissions, you can object to the Schools Adjudicator. Objections must be referred to the Adjudicator by 15th May 2026.  Details of how to object can be found on the Office of the Schools Adjudicator website at www.education.gov.uk/schoolsadjudicator

Applicants to the school are required to complete both the Common Application Form supplied by their home Local Authority and also the Ranelagh School Supplementary Information Form if they wish their application to be considered against the following oversubscription criteria

  • Christian faith (categories 4-6)
  • ‘Looked After Children’
  • staff children
  • significant social and medical need
  • sibling connection

 Application may be made at any time after the start of the year for admission to Ranelagh. The In-Year Application Form must be returned to Bracknell Forest and the In-Year Supplementary Information Form (if appropriate) to Ranelagh School. In appropriate cases the Governors will have full regard to the BFC Fair Access Protocol. Ranelagh complies with Bracknell Forest’s timeline for admissions and therefore an application for the next academic year can be made no earlier than the date set out in Bracknell Forest’s Guide to In-Year Applications

APPEALS TIMETABLE FOR YEAR 7 ADMISSIONS:

  • Offers made: 2nd March 2026
  • Deadline for appeals to be lodged: 31st March 2026.  Appeals will be accepted after this date, but may be heard at a later date with all late applications
  • Date for appeals to be heard: usually held in May [to be confirmed in due course]

Late application allocation days – these appeals will be heard according to the School Admission Appeals Code. Appellants will be given 20 school days to return the completed appeal form from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful.  Their appeal will then be heard within 40 school days from the date given to return their appeal form.

Appeal forms must be returned directly to the school.
